What Hostgator Hosting Plan Do You Need?
Here’s a quick guide to selecting the Hostgator plan you need.
Hostgator Hatchling Plan
If you only need a small individual website, the Hostgator Hatchling plan is perfect for you. This is the starting package. It includes all the features mentioned above. The only fundamental limitation is that you can only register on one domain. This will means that if you have more than the one website – e.g., personal and business – you cannot host them on the same plan.
Hostgator baby plan
Baby Plan is the upgraded version of hosting. However, they are the same functionally. Here’s a comparison between Hostgator Hatchling and the Baby plan. First, you can also have many domains as you want. This makes it ideal for “parking” domains – meaning if you have a bunch of parts you want to keep or sell, this is a great plan to display for advertising purposes. With the Hatchling plan, you can’t do that.

Hostgator Business Plan
Finally, the Business plan is the latest in Hostgator web hosting. You should choose a business plan if your website is essential to your business and you cannot afford a slow website.
It comes with three advantages:

Hostgator web hosting limitations
For email, the following restrictions apply to the individual hosting plans:
- Hostgator Hatchling: 20 Email Lists Max
- Hostgator Baby: max 25 email lists
- Hostgator Business: Max 50 Email Lists
Hostgator will suspend any account that will uses 25% of server resources for more than 90 seconds for other restrictions. In addition, you can see from HostGator’s Terms of the Service that they have the right to terminate your account for any type violation.
Unlike SiteGround’s limitations, for example, the HostGator’s limits are vaguer. Other than “25% of server resources”, there isn’t much to do. There is no limit on script executions, CPU seconds, or anything tangible you can monitor. This could be intentional if they don’t want anyone to tamper with the system.

Hostgator backups suck. Unfortunately, I didn’t include a free automatic backup tool in my post because there aren’t any! Backing up the site is expensive and requires storage and bandwidth. During the purchase, will try to sell you the CodeGuard plan. But CodeGuard from Hostgator is not worth it.
Best value for money, DropMySite is best for backups. It is the cheapest option compared to all the others, and it has no restrictions on the number of the sites you can protect. It also has a monitoring service that you can use in place of Jetpack and StatusCake.
